Athens - Acropolis
Acropolis The Odeon of Herode Atticos

Corfu is the most northern island of the Ionian Group and lies at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea. Gail and Ginny basked under the Mediterranean sun on golden sandy beaches. We toured this island by bus, passing traditional villages, Byzantine churches, impressive Venetian fortresses, and dense vegetation.

When we arrived the island, a James Bond movie was being filmed. A Californian we met was selected to be an extra and met Roger Moore.

From Corfu, we visited Athens, located in the prefecture of Attica. Athens is built around the Acropolis and the pinnacled crag of Mt. Lycabettus. Ancient ruins surround the modern city. People drive between lanes of cars. Pedestrians risk their lives when they cross the crowded street.
